Kaikōkiri Hui Programme

The ACEM Manaaki Mana Kaikōkiri Hui 2026 has been designed as a highly interactive and immersive experience grounded in whakawhanaungatanga (connection), wānanga (shared discussion and learning), wellbeing and collective action.

Rather than a traditional conference format centred around presentations and passive learning, this Hui will create space for kaikōkiri to

connect, reflect, share experiences and work through real challenges together. The programme has been shaped by feedback from previous Hui and guided by the shared vision of Te Rōpū Manaaki Mana - to create a space where Kaikōkiri feel safe, supported, energised and heard.

Across the three days, you can expect:

  • Wānanga and facilitated group discussions
  • Opportunities for kaikōkiri to share successes, challenges and local experiences
  • Interactive activities focused on Māori health equity in emergency care
  • Cultural learning and shared practices including waiata and karakia
  • Time intentionally built in for whakawhanaungatanga and informal connection
  • Wellness and restorative experiences that reflect the unique environment of Rotorua
  • Collective conversations focused on turning ideas into meaningful action

The Hui will bring together people from across Aotearoa who are committed to championing the values and aspirations of Te Rautaki Manaaki Mana within emergency departments.

More detailed programme information, including facilitators, discussion topics and activities will be released closer to the Hui.
